Unique Recipe To Try

Ingredients:

  • Cooked lobster meat; preferably the tail of a 1 ½ pound lobster cut into 4 long pieces
  • Corn Dog Batter (recipe to follow)
  • 2 oz creamy mustard dip (recipe to Follow)
  • Your favorite Pickles
  • 4 Bamboo tooth picks
  • ½ gallon Peanut oil to fry

Directions:

In a heavy pot or deep fryer, warm up your peanut to 350 degrees.

Cover the lobster pieces completely with the batter.

Then carefully place the lobster in the oil and fry it for a few minutes, until they turn a nice, golden brown.

Use tongs to take them out and lay out on a paper towel for half a minute.

Place a toothpick in the end of each piece and serve with a spicy mustard dip and pickles.

Mustard Dip Ingredients & Directions:

  • 1/2 cup whole grain Dijon
  • 1/4 cup regular Dijon
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 2 T red wine vinegar
  • 2 T minced tarragon

Mix all of these ingredients together and then season with salt and pepper.

Corn Dog Batter Ingredients & Directions:

  • 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

School shopping is done.
We have our folders and notebooks.
We have our pencils, planners, and textbooks.
We might have some classes we’re nervous for.
We might have some we are more excited about.
The ultimate goal is success.
But what is your success?
I believe success means doing what you wanted to do.
So why do we go to school?
Ultimately to learn, and get our degree.
Whatever it is you’re going to school for,
wherever you’re at in school,
whatever your dreams may be,
cheers to a new school year!

Extend Your Beautiful Summer Bronze

Saying good bye to summer is never fun, saying good bye to our beautiful bronzed skin is even more difficult. Well, maybe we don’t have to. Keeping a healthy glow through the winter, is never an easy task, but I have found a product that gives you a sunless, natural looking tan.

Step 1

I have tried numerous sunless tanning products, only to find streaking, orange tints, and short lasting color. I was really excited when I discovered this affordable product. Before you start bronzing your skin, you want to start with your exfoliator. This first step polishes your skin with natural, non-abrasive pineapple fruit enzyme.

Step 2

It is pretty simple to receive a tan from the tanning bed, however, it’s not the healthiest choice for your skin. One-Ingredient Ice Cream!

Banana Ice Cream

This delicious, guilt-free dessert is one of my favorites! Not only is it ridiculously easy to make, but it only uses one simple and completely natural ingredient… BANANAS! It’s a fantastic option for vegans or those keeping a watch on sugar, artificial enhancers, unhealthy fats, or calories.

Ingredients

Makes 2 Servings

  • 2 peeled, ripe bananas, sliced into coins and frozen in freezer until solid

Extras

Blend in 3 tbsp of these sweet additions brought to you by theKitchn:

  • Honey
  • Nutella or peanut butter
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder + 2 tbsp cream
  • Vanilla extract or cinnamon to taste

Sprinkle 1/3 c. of any of these on top:

  • Sliced, frozen strawberries
  • Sliced, toasted almonds
  • Fruit jam
  • Shredded coconut

Preparation

Mix bananas and any extras in a food processor until creamy, or use a blender with 1/3 c. milk (almond, soy, or dairy milk). Place creamy mixture back in freezer until it reaches a desired consistency, or add toppings and enjoy as an irresistible custard!!

Clothing that Inspires

Life’s journey Clothing was created in 2008 by Chris Hudson. Through his clothing line he hopes to educate and uplift individuals.  His vision behind the clothing line is to cause individuals to think about their future.  Life’s Journey creates designs that are positive, inspiring, and uplifting.

“Even though we as people all come from different walks of life we all have one thing in common and that’s purpose. You were placed on this earth for a purpose so don’t allow your gift to go to waste, because if you do you never know who you will affect by not reaching your full potential.”

This driven visionary is changing lives on his inspirational journey.  To Chris, everyday is an accomplishment, because he is able to do what he loves.  We were able to interview him and get familiar with his story and clothing line.

What is your work inspired by?

Life’s Journey is an inspirational brand that is focused towards motivating and inspiring you through clothing.  We’re not just selling you clothing, we’re selling you inspiration to help you pursue towards your purpose.  My work inspired by life, experiences, conservation, and helping individuals to understand their purpose and setbacks.

What sets your designs apart from the rest?

I would say that each particular piece or design tells a story.  It’s more than just a design, it’s a way of life.  Each design is attached by a quote such as “Inspired by Those Who Doubted Me”, “Think Old, Retire Young”, “Humble and Hungry”, etc.

What music is on heavy rotation at your design studio?

Well, I listen to a lot of soul/indie music, but as far as right now I have been listening to a lot of the old Kayne (College Dropout), and of course Jay-Z.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I spend time with my son and family, read, and find ways to improve my life and get better everyday.

Do you have personal principles when it comes to deciding what to design?

Well I actually come up with all of the concepts and then my design team will bring the concept to life.  Typically I will get the direction that I want to take the design and brainstorm on it for a few days before meeting with my designer. 

Fall 2012 is coming… What endeavors are you willing to share?

This fall 2012 is going to crazy for us, we have a lot of new product releasing.  Jackets, button downs, and our very first Varsity Jackets only 100 of them will be printed.
